Hi! I'm Marco, a health policy researcher. I study the commercial determinants of health, the politics of misinformation, big tech, and online portrayals of health and wellness.
I am a PhD Student at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, studying public health and policy. I am also a Research Associate at the University of British Columbia, where I conduct research to support young people and their mental health. I hold affiliations with Simon Fraser University (Research Fellow) and the University of Washington Bothell (Affiliate Instructor).
My research is driven by the belief that financial interests should not compromise or negatively impact population health and well-being. Thus, most of my research activities are focused upon health-harming industries or those leveraging misinformation for financial gain.
Outside of research, I love the mountains. “It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves.” – Sir Edmund Hillary
